Mitra was Lara Croft's live-action actress, and Mitra was the character as Lara Croft as Mitra. Angelina Jolie was cast in the role for the Tomb Raider movies (2001-2003). Mitra played Tara Wilson in The Practice's final season. Then she reprised her role in Boston Legal's spin-off however, she was unable to play the same role for the second season. Mitra was Kit McGraw in season 3 of the series Nip/Tuck in 2005. Mitra then went on to appear in Skinwalkers, The Number 23 and Shooter.In 2008, Mitra starred in the principal role in the action/science fiction film Doomsday as Major Eden Sinclair (sometimes mistakenly named in some databases as Caryn Peterson) In 2009, Mitra was cast in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans as Sonja who is the daughter of the powerful vampire older Viktor (played by Bill Nighy). Mitra became a fan of her vampire fangs while filming and refused to take them off when they were not visible. "I put the fangs in the very first day. I thought it was odd to have them there. I kept them there throughout the entire process of filming and every line of dialogue. Stargate Universe had three episodes featuring her.
