Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin, who was raised in Wellington however was born and raised in Winnipeg was first seen in the acting world in The Piano. At age 11 years old, she became an infant Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin, born July 24 the 24th of July, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for her role as the curious and sociable child of Holly Hunter's principal character in The Piano. Following a formal audition, at nine she changed her name to Flora McGrath - the daughter of a Scottish muffled pianist during the 19th century. They made the move to New Zealand to marry an arranged husband. At the age of 16 her family relocated into the United States. Paquin was played as the title child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played the title part for the role of the Queen in Fly Away Home, a movie from the same year. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and also played a part in the role of Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and also played the polexia Aphrodisa character in Almost Famous (2000).
